Once, during an interview, I was asked why I, the owner of a successful company, go to work every day? I laughed it off, but I thought about it.
What kind of feeling makes me get up every morning and go to the office? This feeling is definitely not greed. What is it?
Pretty soon I figured it out. I just like being around these people. Because they are real modern heroes. Selfless, brave, smart. They have this inner spring in them. It is this desire to be among the heroes that makes you long for office days during vacations or prolonged holidays.
They are fighters against the chaos of an imperfect world, who manage to bring balance and harmony to it. Create a fairy tale for strangers for a few hours. They keep a million promises in their heads. They keep their orders in a world where no one keeps them. They know the corporate values of dozens of corporations and must follow these standards, not forgetting that they must be faster, more mandatory, and better than everyone else around them.
These are the heroes who, in a tiny office, come up with a Big Dream for huge companies. They operate with huge sums, receiving a modest salary. They lend to banks and global FMCG concerns. They're in their offices on Friday nights to get everything done on time. Because the main thing is the result, and no one is interested in the price. They stay calm in all situations and constantly perform miracles that you don't even know about.
Think about it. They are there. There are these invisible heroes behind your every event. Modest people in black T-shirts, with walkie-talkies, sober and collected on any holiday. These are fragile girls who prove by their work that they are stronger than hot steel. These are young businessmen who turn gray early. They may smile at you or be serious, but they are always focused on solving any problem you have. You don't notice them in the spotlight because you only see them on stage at the stars. But they are there. Their place is in the control room, their place is behind the stage, where their invisible life, their tragedies and triumphs are seething. They swallow redbull with sedatives. They sleep side by side after two days of installation. Their victory cry sounds on an empty playground, where there is no beauty or chaos left.
It is their work that gives you unforgettable moments in your life. This is the event business. These are event managers.
I want to thank these Heroes. Thanks for being here, guys. I am proud to be among you. And, wishing you a Happy New Year, I know what all these new years are worth to you.
Thank you for being here, event managers!
